Well this is disappointing.

Adobe Is Ruthlessly Killing Off Software That Animators Around The World Are Using Every Day

On a page morbidly-titled "End of Life FAQ", the company writes:

Adobe Animate will no longer be available to download for new customers, beginning March 1, 2026. Enterprise customers can access the application, download their content, and receive technical support until March 1, 2029. For all other customers, technical support, application access, and the ability to download content will be available until March 1, 2027.

That's why Free and Open Source animation software is important (and the same for all creative tools).

I'm aware of Blender (super mature and awesome), FreeCAD (getting there), GIMP (super mature and awesome), Krita (mature and awesome), and Inkscape (mature and awesome). There's Godot (super mature and awesome) which I've used to animate stupid things to amuse my kid and myself event though it's for games. What else am I missing?

Hello brains trust!

My fairy wand as the Wattle Fairy Godmother is more of a walking stick. It is both cute and badass! Don't mess with fairies with big wands! hehehe!

For seven years the ceramic bird glued to the top has held steady. Last year it came off. I asked people what to use in order to re-attach it. A particular glue was suggested as being extra tough. It was a two-step thingo. It lasted one day at the festival for which I needed it, but by late afternoon, someone pointed out that my bird was hanging by a gooey thread. So, I removed her before she could fall off and possibly break.

Does anyone here have any ideas how I can attach a ceramic bird to a rubber cap on a wooden staff?

The rubber tip looks like the problem material. Scuff through the shine. You might want to put a small hole in the center of the rubber tip. That may allow the new glue to mushroom into the hole for more contact. Give the rubber tip a wipe with some form of spirit cleaner, mineral spirits, alcohol, acetone or similar .

There are flexible cyanoacrylate glues, which might work better. The better type for that application would be a thick viscosity CA. It comes in thin, medium, and thick. Most little tubes are medium or thin. Thick is better for gap filling.
