Ah yes, the loggers of those huge pieces. Gee those chains look awfully environmentally friendly! But then, so do logging machines, I guess.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The tires alone are bad enough, but add the chains and you are really going to rip-up the ground.

The biggest problem is the vibrations. That compacts the earth meters around the vehicle - forever.

I'd expect much strife between any displaced critters and the established ones in the surrounding areas.
