This is the performance of my first major video repost on #YouTube that I had posted to #PeerTube months beforehand. It’s done well. Posting on PeerTube first had no negative impact as far as I can tell, in fact premiering on PeerTube let me polish and trim a minute from the video which made it a better watch. Fediverse fans also reported watching it a second time for the YouTube release. Conclusion: Counterintuitively I think I got more YouTube views as a result of posting on PeerTube first.
