But this is what every German kid does as soon as they have discovered sprinkles and Nutella!!

i'm still coming to terms with @Carsten Raddatz's Nutella inclusion. it would be nice...but would it be fairy bread without the butter melting into the bread and the sprinkles leaving tiny coloured stains as they succumb and melt to white, too?

actually...with Nutella would be really nice

@Christoph S @Sam Smith @Clarice Boomshakala Bouvier @Cass M 👋🏽🍁 Heh. The outdoor swimming pool I went to as a 12yo had "hedgehog waffles", that is waffles, doused in chocolate sauce, and then sprinkled with white sugary cocos flakes on them.

Fairy bread is the simple ad-hoc version at home. Add chocolate something to it for added Throwback Thursday type enjoyment!

Strong Throwback vibes there @Muse Also, pineapple and carrots D:

I think when I was little Jell-O was still somewhat ubiquitous.. old cookbooks tell the story. At home my mum did not use it much, while grandma for a short while thought it was oh so modern. In common supermarkets today there is only a few regular items left of this era.

@Carsten Raddatz I remember eating that sort of salad. It was all right! I also remember making popcorn balls using jello mixed with corn syrup. These would then be turned into lumpy works of art!
