in reply to Nextcloud π±βοΈπ» • • •Certainly, not!
Please:
- Stop chasing AI bullshit! No *user* wants it!
- Get back to a *sane* major release cycle! (Like every 2 years.) The current pace is not sustainable. Itβs just CEO marketing β¦
- prioritize fixing bugs over new features. There is no point in adding more rushed βfeaturesβ to broken existing ones.
- Fix the massive performance issues.

Nothing is more annoying than a web storage suggesting files instead of showing me the folder structure I deliberately created. Google drive is neigh unusable because of this. Please don't copy the worst features and of you do, please at least make it possible to deactivate them.

in reply to Nextcloud π±βοΈπ» • • •Is there a way to completely remove the AI-App Store? I only need my actual Apps. Nobody, NOBODY, wants AI in a self hostable cloud.
Even though I already know nobody (who actually has a saying at next cloud) will look at my answer, as that account is (mostly) just used for advertisement, I may recommend reading this thread. It shows how stupid this AI hyped (or, in general, typical capitalistic hypes) are: retro.social/@ifixcoinops/1139β¦

in reply to Nextcloud π±βοΈπ» • • •no to the first question: not really because it sounds like the aystem will make a mistake and I WILL miss something important.
And to the wondering: recently opened has been a thing for a long time.
There no good reason to use LLMs for either of these.

in reply to Nextcloud π±βοΈπ» • • •For those who don't want AI: no problem at all, Nextcloud has always been modular by design, and AI is optional and off-by-default for this very reason.
For performance improvements and bugs: we agree, let's squash them! π Every release (every day, actually!) we release a ton of bug fixes and performance improvements to help make Nextcloud faster, smoother, and more of a pleasure to use - hopefully for everyone from sysadmins to family members.

Why not set an example and show other companies you don't need to have all this AI bullshit to be successful.
This AI phase truly needs to die off and go away as soon as possible and all of these companies, regardless of how big or small they are, need to stop jumping on the bandwagon and putting it in everything and shoving it down our throats.
