Hi all! Good news β Google has decided to restore the permissions to our #Android app so we can bring back the full file syncing functionality. Expect a test tonight and final later this or early next week. Thanks a lot for your support, it is what made all the difference!

Years ago they notified several of my web dev clients that their sites had "malware" because we used Matomo, an open souce, privacy-respecting alternative to g analytics. G was non-responsive to my clients' efforts to get more info.
G later deleted my work account for supposed violations of their terms. No explanation of what that violation was.

Users of Nextcloud on Android should still switch over to F-Droid. Have some independence from Google.
