UK policing minister Chris Philp has said he wants to give the police access to the UK’s passport database, which will mean that public #FacialRecognition cameras can identify all of us. It will mean the End of Privacy in Public. Join our campaign to hold your MP to account.

My MP ignores me - and I've never been overbearing or impolite to him (maybe I should be?) and he just goes along, going thru the motions of being an MP, doing little speeches about his pet topic, and getting paid a fat salary. And *I* get none of the representation the system is *supposed* to marshal. Each & every MP could do the same and nobody could touch them. I think we can only watch the UK Govt, in horror.

I think it’s a dick move and they shouldn’t do it, but “privacy in public” has never been A Thing.

The combination of a covid mask with dark sunglasses will defeat many, probably most facial recognition algorithms and unlike clown masks is not "probable cause" for anything and will attract only limited attention
