Kaspersky release a free Virus Removal Tool for Linux

Well, this is interesting. Kaspersky have released KVRT (Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool), which is free to use to scan your systems for issues.

You know Kaspersky can't be trusted right... They lost all credibility as an anti-virus provider a good few years back.

if it wasn't for the fact that most third party AV makes systems more vulnerable, not less, this would almost be useful. Just like a good Highend piece of malware often does, ut removes other infections and/or patches the flaw it used to get in. I also wouldn't be surprised if it phones home, just like real malware. I just don't trust these guys anymore. Not by any fault of their own. It's just a matter of time until the Kremel comes knocking at their door.

@lcruggeri Linux server after start consuming around 90mb ram, with antivirus 1.9gb... IO speed reduced 30-45% because of Kaspersky immagination...
