that's why I never consider any amd trash, even if I know that amd drivers & utilities are open source & work better on Linux, but I never recommend any amd trash, I recommended it once for my father's work laptop but then he didn't have any choice, no DELL laptop that is cheap enough and for work only can be found on the store's website that day

@bargoderea one bad experience doesn't make an entire platform (AMD) not worth it, I have an AMD CPU and GPU and love them

that's the thing, I did never experience them, well maybe in 2002 with my mother's laptop (it has a radeon that always showed a black screen when I wanted to play on ubuntu, long story) but it was something my Big Data teacher used to say over & over again: don't ever use AMD stuff, they lack critical things hidden from normal users

got a promo code with my AMD GPU I got last Xmas. Couldnt redeem the code/game on Linux as AMD was using some kinda windows only utility to detect/verify the hardware...

lol was unaware ppl had so much hate for AMD. A bit weird with the 'my grandma once had an AMD CPU which was bad' stories though.
