Nice use of backwards books! Generally I find it annoying when they do this on house remodel shows. It's like they're afraid of an adverse reaction if people know what the books are.
@LovableSidekick it's like sorting your books by colour - only worse, you can't read the titles. In this case, for the duration of Christmas, I think it's funny and original. 🎄
The incredible human who made this owned my favorite used bookshop, just a block from where I lived in Maine. He kept a shelf just for me to discover the most wonderful stories. Mostly sci-fi, but other genres too. After I moved to DC, he’d occasionally mail books.
Before I left, I introduced him to a close friend. They’ve now been married for many years. ❤️📚/2
For some reason I read this all wrong while almost falling asleep last night 😂 I thought you were going to do some matchmaking and wanted to put myself up as one of your projects 😂
Sci-fi-wise it started with watching Star Trek as a child, followed by Ursula leGuin and 'mystical' stories by Frederik van Eeden and Louis Couperus that were over a 12-year old's head but that for some reason really hit home. I miss going to comics shops and talk to the sweet nerds ❤

For me it was Frank Herbert, Robert Heinlein, and the @GreatDismal William Gibson.
I find it harder to read some sci-fi as an adult. Fantasy allows my mind to switch off its logic gate.
I wish someone had introduced me to Ursula LeGuin, Octavia Butler, Ann McCaffrey, and Robin Hobb as a kid as well.
Happy Holiday Reading.
