whenever this sort of thing comes up, two things come to mind. Not a super fan but I've always liked racing games; once I heard someone mention that most of them are really just consumerist brand worship experiences. More and more they're just made in the language of ads. And that stuck with me because I can see it and heck, maybe my favourite racer was NFS Porsche Unleashed, and it doesn't get more naked than that [+1]

This sucks. I hope they get it hammered out. I didn't know this game existed, but now that I do I'm interested.

this is one of the things that is holding me back on working on my game ideas, I'm terrible at the visual aspect (models, texture, animating and all that good stuff) but I don't want to use other peoples assets because of situations like these so I found myself falling down the rabbit hole of artsy stuff when all I want to do is a couple of small games for fun.

Unfortunately this is one of many reason where my brain tell to "make everything from zero". Pre-made assets can help a lot, I still feel uncomfortable using without been paranoid waiting to someone sue my ass just because someone decide to be asshole for profit.
