I'm for the cause, but not too proud to admit I'm going off half-cocked on the switch. I don't mind a little jank, but when games hard-crash at random times, well...
oh I miss 3 versions of microsoft teams and system UI implemented in there different levels of framework abstraction latest of which includes javascript
this is totally true, but I believe users are going for Windows games less than they were a couple of years ago. Linux support for gaming has been improving over the years and I hope it continues improving, so the few that move to Windows don't need to do it anymore.
Sadly, the problem is not Linux or their community at all, so their work doesn't really matter... The real problem are the companies who develop those games, support Linux!!
I only play MCOC on my device π so can't comment over Linux or window π. But what I learnt after reading about Linux from books.. I found Linux is good for programmers and developers... For normal user(me π€£) it's still tough to use
I was considering doing this just to play Skate specifically, as its anti-cheat detects and refuses to work under Wine and VMs, but now that Sonic Rumble has been released and uses an anti-cheat system that officially supports Wine, I've decided to keep my computer 100% Linux, as it has been for the last 5 years.
The Plex transition was practically impossible. I followed the main guide and a more deeper guide on transferring registry to XML.
Sadly most of the metadata was lost and playlists (largely Plex's fault) didn't transition.
So I put my Windows build on a travel pc I had that has the N-Series of processors by intel. I don't think it will ever be more than a media server going forward.
But I did nuke my entire steam library and moved that towards linux, mainly to my steam deck.
