Steam Survey for February 2024 shows a big bump in Simplified Chinese

Seems like once again we're seeing an Asia influx on Steam, as the February 2024 Steam Hardware & Software Survey showed a big +7.62% bump in Simplified Chinese.

I do wonder if these bumps can ever be explained away. It could be some random news article over there describing how to bypass the great wall with a new VPN or a new game with insane popularity, or a popular game which added a server in China. Who knows!? I find this stuff fascinating! 😁

when this happened before a few times, Valve looked into it and saw it was cyber cafes: gamingonlinux.com/2018/05/the-…

but that was repeating monthly, not one offs here and there

Well this sure is interesting, Valve have announced some flaws in their Steam Hardware Survey that caused cyber cafes to over-count users.
