I have to admit I was a little bit worried at first when I read the headlines but then I remembered that there's still this other OS AMD provides drivers for.

The Radeon team have been terrible at communicating what any of this definitively means. Thank god for Mesa, but it does mean actual AMD engineers will likely contribute less to RADV for older architectures even though they committed to RADV for RDNA3 and up. But don't worry, that's why we have community contributions!
