Nintendo goes after Switch emulator yuzu in new lawsuit

Well, here we go. Nintendo have formally filed a lawsuit against the creators of the popular open source Switch emulator yuzu.

hasn't the decryption angle already played out before in court. You're allowed to break encryption for research purposes.

Yuzu just have to say the emulation project is a research project.

Looking at the rhetoric of their (Nintendo's) claims, the language deliberately states that Nintendo has a monopoly over the software that runs on their console. Given all of the "anti-gatekeeper" legal initiatives that have taken hold in Europe, it will be interesting to see if Nintendo isn't implicated due to their own language and practices.
