in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐ง๐ฎ • • •Not surprised that it eventually broke. Was facing regular crashes in multiplayer and tile rendering problems for a long time on the native client before I ended up switching to using Proton. Been fine since.
Similar to you, I haven't had problems with the 2K launcher in terms of actually launching it, but it does sometimes eat all my RAM (QtWebEngine memory leaks sometimes), so appreciate the launch argument so I can skip it and not have to deal with that pointless launcher.

I have proton. I have lots of games that work through it...but Civ is the Linux port and I couldn't figure out how to get the windows version instead.

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐ง๐ฎ • • •I'm using the flatpak version of Steam and did not need any workarounds to start Civ VI (v1.0.1.104).
I've actually had a much better experience on my system with all the games in my library using the flatpak version...
