Assassin's Creed Valhalla is impressive on Steam Deck
Assassin's Creed Valhalla has launched on Steam and that means getting it on Steam Deck and Linux desktop is much easier, since Valve have Proton. The experience on Steam Deck is surprisingly good too.Liam Dawe (GamingOnLinux)

But I really should pick up #Valhalla ...I think I'll do that this weekend.

The Ubisoft launcher is annoying, i never like additional launchers, but I wouldn't call it in any way "lazy". The launcher does have an upside: cloud saves across basically all platforms for it.

It's great how Linux gaming is evolving real fast.
