According to OurWorldInData, 80 billion animals are slaughtered for food each year.

The scale of what eat (& waste) is massive, which contributes to #ClimateChange & degrades the environment.

In the US, we consume ~280lbs (127 kg) /person/year (not including fish & seafood).

Beef has the most significant environmental impact & Argentinians consume 104lbs (47 kg) of beef/person/year. #food

Over the past 5 years or so, I've stopped eating pork and beef. Now I eat bison almost daily along with chicken and fish. Bison is tasty, very lean, and high in protein. When I cook a bison burger, there is almost no fat at all in the pan unlike ground beef or steak. I also hope that, in the USA, we start having larger and larger bison herds since these herds can reclaim the prairies.

...what crap...you would be better off talking about the chemicals left in the air we breath by airplanes and space ships which when stopped from flying Temps drop 1-2 degrees for a few days...than whining about what animals which are needed to be eaten...humans also put alot of gas out there ...maybe you want to control them , since vegetables and greens cause gas internally SEVERAL times DAILY..13 being the average times...

The number has increased to 90 billion per year this year. I wonder if it will reach 100 billion soon. 😞
