EA Anticheat arrives for Battlefield V in April, will break it on Linux / Steam Deck

Following on from adding EA Anticheat into FIFA 23, Battlefield 2042 and Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 we're about to see another game broken on Linux / Steam Deck with Battlefield V.

Fuck EA. There, i said it.

I used to play Destiny 2 on stadia, then Google shut that down, and Bungie apparently cannot imagine anything worse than Linux users getting in on the action.

Edit: i just reread this and realized the two paragraphs are kind of weird together. But what i mean is: it seems like these people are making an effort to make paying games on your system as painful as possible... EA in particular have been the Masters of this art for so many years now

Sad for us Linux users, but not surprising considering the massive cheater issue.
At least the multiplayer will be playable on Windows again.
