c’est bien ça le problème en effet. La dialectique tourne en rond, car on évite les 3 sujets de fond : l’unité, la justice et la paix
in reply to Jen Sorensen

Yup - that's one of the reasons it's so challenging to stand up for peace and justice during, instead of just in-between, wars. I got the same thing from people who said I supported terrorists when I demonstrated against bombing and invading Iraq. But of course, people are even more emotionally invested in the side they have affinity to in the current Middle East war. This is exactly why Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Nonviolence is way of life for courageous people."
in reply to Jen Sorensen

But what is your solution? A ceasefire doesn't stop the killing. It's just one-sided then.
in reply to Jen Sorensen

So, what are your plans to get Hamas to stop firing on Israel? Remember Hamas, the people who broke the ceasefire, kidnaped all those people, raped those women and murdered those children? Same bunch who are using Gazans as human shields while they launch rockets at Israel from hospitals and heavily-populated neighborhoods? That Hamas, remember them?

Because if your plan is for Israel to just stop trying to take out Hamas and thus let Hamas continue firing on Israel unopposed, you are definitely supporting terrorists, and your lack of concern for Israeli civilians is noted.

And I have to question your sympathy for the people of Gaza as well, because Hamas is using them as human shields, and that ought to bother you. Hamas could end this whole conflict in an instant, by announcing they will cease hostilities. But of course they won't do that, because dead Palestinians are good PR. That's whom you're supporting. Good job.

in reply to Jen Sorensen

So, just to clarify: the person on the left asking both IL and HAMAS to cease fire, correct?
in reply to Jen Sorensen

yeah, it's really bothering that Palestinian civilians will probably face genocide no matter who win this sh×tshow. They'll suffer under Hammas, They'll suffer the same under Israel government.
And world politicians do everything they can to dehumanize them even more, so nobody would care if they all die. It's disgusting. And it makes Israel morally equal to 1930's Germany.
in reply to Jen Sorensen

Speaking of cartoons… What does everyone think about this:

Liberals objected to a Michael P. Ramirez cartoon criticizing Hamas, that was featured in The Washington Post. The paper responded by taking down the cartoon.

#FreePress #FreeSpeech #EditorialCartoons #WAPO #media #Woke #LiberalValues #TheLeft #Hamas

in reply to Jen Sorensen

Both sides are guilty of this.

"Oh, you don't like Biden? So you're one of those nazis who fell for Trump propaganda, aren't you?!"

in reply to Jen Sorensen

Remember when 9/11 happened and the US's global war on terror ended terrorism and made everyone safer which totally justified the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people?

Yeah, me neither.

in reply to Jen Sorensen

Slightly out of date. I used to be told I was a self-hating Jew whenever I criticized Israel. Now I'm told that I'm an antisemitic Jew, as if that were something that makes any kind of sensee
in reply to Jen Sorensen

If one calls for a ceasefire, and upon hearing the answer
RELEASE THE HOSTAGES
then replies, “but do what Hamas wants”

You don’t want a ceasefire, you just want Hamas to have it’s way. You are either a Hamas shill or a useful pawn.
in reply to Jen Sorensen

I'm shure we'd see a #Ceasefire in #Gaza once #Hamas releases all #Hostages and conditionlessly surrenders...

After all Gazans ain't gonnaa get rid of Hamas on their own...

in reply to Jen Sorensen

Iran, Iraq, Qatar, Saudi and the rest of the Arab countries should withhold all oil from the world market. Bibi would capitulate in less than 6 hours.
in reply to Jen Sorensen

That's an overwhelming majority of arguements in a nutshell.

La meilleure caricature que j'ai vue de la malhonneteté et du terrorisme intellectuels, les deux grands marqueurs du national-sionisme et de l'extrême-droite fascisante en général..
in reply to Jen Sorensen

Excellent comic! The arguments of the guy on the right are the ones which aim to simplify every conflict into a fight between two parts, the allies and the enemies. This argument is summarized as "pacifism is trafficking with the enemy", which, according to Humberto Eco, characterizes fascism. In such a view, there is no space for humanity, nor human rights. Meanwhile, people are being killed in Gaza. More than 11 thousands until today.
