Before 1993, women weren’t allowed to wear pants on the Senate floor. That changed when Sen. Moseley Braun (D-IL), & Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) wore trousers - shocking the male-dominated Senate. This eventually led to the dress code being clarified to allow women to wear pants. Credit: Liberal Jane Illustration liberaljane.com #history #uspol

it's amazing that it was in the late 90s FFS.
it's funny though because when you say "that's sexist" they roll their eyes. but when it come to any form of affirmative action or something they say "that's racist"

I had to wear dresses/skirts in Elementary School until they changed the dress code when I was in 5th grade.

It’s absurd.
