Spec Ops: The Line gets delisted on Steam - you can still buy it elsewhere for now

Spec Ops: The Line from YAGER / 2K has been unexpectedly removed from Steam, as the store page is now delisted so it won't show up in searches and it can no longer be purchased.

The only game I've ever played that I couldn't bring myself to play again because I genuinely found it distressing. The mechanics are completely unremarkable, but that story... A total gut punch.

The music was the best part of this game. Hendrix's epic playing over the credits gave you the perfect backdrop and the time you needed to absorb the impact of the the story.

And seeing that it has Hendrix in it, definitely points to licensing reasons. A Muzak re-release would be dishonest.

I got it back in 2015 bundled with the Bioshocks. Never actually played it through but I really should.

Spec Ops: The Line is currently the best-selling game on GOG. This is probably one of the most effective marketing strategies I've ever seen.
