Valve won't hesitate to refund players who bought this intending to play it on deck who aren't getting the experience they expected. But yeah they need to tighten up the verification methodology they use.

No surprise, quality of this port is unfortunate. They even moved release day for a month to focus on making it better, and still is like that. DF make a nice case about this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ2emuUoxrI

@AfGandalfistan valve promoted the deck with gameplay of the LoU, implying it works.

@fiveEyedBeast @AfGandalfistan Naughty Dog never submitted TLOU to Value for verification and just posted they will be prioritizing fixes and patches before doing so, so I don't see how this is a bad look for anyone...? (You know, outside of Naughty Dog pushing out a port that needs this much patching to begin with.)

@jay @fiveEyedBeast @AfGandalfistan If you don't think showing it on the official Steam Deck website is a bad look, I've got a very expensive bridge made out of thin paper to sell you

@fiveEyedBeast @AfGandalfistan A small unidentified clip of it in a montage of pc games on the website? No, I don't. A bad look would be them calling it verified and then having to take that back afterwards.

@fiveEyedBeast @AfGandalfistan Doesn't matter. Having a clip of a game clearly doesn't imply it's verified. Remember how everyone was claiming that the video being part of the clip instantly meant it was going to be verified day one?

I get that people are disappointed and that's fair to a degree but that disappointment comes from a big assumption. You could say "Valve shouldn't have used the clip if it's not going to be verified" and I think that would be a fair statement too. Hopefully both sides will learn something from this.
