@colinburgess Australian here: your post had me scratching my head. I woke up and read about an Australian native budgie that is called by the name of New Zealand's native, flightless bird.
There must be a story behind the name you have given your budgie?
@colinburgess @perkinsy We lived in Brisbane, Australia for a year on sabbatical & stopped in New Zealand for a couple of weeks on the way home where we were able to see Kiwis (and Keas, Wekas, Takahes & more!)
My 10yr old adopted our budgie the week we returned & named him Kiwi.
I had a pair of budgies many years ago. When I got a kitten, she'd lay on top of their flight cage and they'd pull her hair. Fast forward 10 years, those budgies long gone, I got another. Larry had a small cage, spent all his time on a swing in the front window. Cat, now old, somehow didn't realize she could or should go after Larry. He'd dive bomb her as she lay on the couch, and she'd look shocked for a second, then go back to sleep. Sadly, current cat would eat a budgie in a second.
My housemates have three budgies, and their cages are next to a great big TV that plays streaming shows with giant budgie videos. They call out and watch their favorite TV star birds. It's very glamorous.

First - naming an Australian bird Kiwi is just such a beautiful chirp at the Ozzies (I love my cousins in Melbourne but I also love taunting them)
Next - Budgies are gorgeous, fun, insane little birds who will talk to a reflection in the mirror. I can just imagine the craziness of a zoom call.
Lastly - how do you keep the bird shit out of your keyboard?
