You can not remove what is not there in the first place 😛

when you know all the system components you cannot bloat it. On Windows it's impossible as even Microsoft don't know its OS's components.

upgrading the whole OS with Programmes in less than 10 Minutes.

Seemingly hibernate forever without issue. I started a game of Ratchet and Clank months ago on my SteamDeck. Every couple of weeks I'll wake the SteamDeck up... play a bit... and send it to sleep again. I don't have to load the game up again and watch the splash screens... kinda magic.

Release version naming in a consistent and easy to understand manner? This has always been a bugbear of mine.

Windows 1, windows 2, windows 3, 3.1. Simple, then we go to windows 95 & 98. Followed by.. Windows ME, XP and VISTA.

Then back to numbers (that make no sense!) windows 7, 8.. Then 10, 11? What?! When 7 came out I assumed they were returning to simple numbers, but win7 isn’t even the 7th incarnation of windows desktop.

about that, I kid you not, my Xbox controller works way better on Fedora then it does on Windows 10 lmao

Lets me run a Nextcloud server in a Docker container on an old desktop PC connected to the internet via a domestic copper/fibre ADSL connection.

For me personally? Provide my family's bread and butter. I know jack about Windows.

Both can calculate any computable function given enough time and resources. You don't have to pay the man for Linux to get it done though.

Updare un the background without waiting for an eternity before turning on or off the computer.

- run on old/ low performance machines without a problem
- have no bloat/ ads/ tracking
- beeing an OS which truly can be used on a daily basis

easily route any audio to two different bluetooth headsets in parallel

Install on multiple computers, as many as you want or need.

For me this is a huge advantage linux has over windows. I build my own computers and I’m not buying a second windows licence just to maintain my old system after upgrading, and I’m certainly not buying two every few years microsoft demands I upgrade (practically at gunpoint!) to the new incarnation of windows vista.

in reply to Abigyil

@Abigyil True, Microsoft expects people to pay up every time they introduce a new Windows version.

@Abigyil What is Microsoft?

A Software Company? 🤔
A Pay Me Company!😄 👌

- minimize vulnerability and security issues. Maximize free tools for Antivirus and intrusion detection
- free virtualization and NAS /RAID storage even on desktops. Equalize software between Server and Desktop including floating grades of all sorts between them.
- Distinguish between Enterprise Linux and free distros while keeping all based on same kernel.
