Whenever I find myself feeling concerned about the future of life on Earth, I’m comforted thinking of the humble tardigrade.

Sure, humans may not be here long in the grand scheme of things, but water bears will certainly persevere for millions of years after we’re gone.

A long time ago (nineties) I had a date and the guy asked me what my favourite animal was. I said 'the tardigrade'. He didn't know what they were. Understandable: this was before people had a lot of interest in them. I remember he was in awe and looked it up 😊 Tardigrades rule!

We can only hope the tardigrades don't invent capitalism, lest they share our same demise.
