The minimum CPU supported by the Linux kernel at the moment id literally the Intel 80486 for Intel compatible hardware. Though I'd argue that you probably should have a 64-bit capable CPU, given most mainstream distros don't support 32-but systems anymore; even Debian is starting the process of dropping support (probably not in 13, but maybe 14).
