These companies spend a lot of time and money on these garbage "anti-cheat" measures that can be broken. Those anti-cheat measures can also cause all kinds of issues, like this one and more. It really looks bad on the game companies who implement it.

A friend keeps wanting me to play Dead by Daylight with them, but it uses Easy Anti-Cheat and I haven't played anything or done anything on my windows box in over a year. Running Fedora with a decent system.

Not sure if it would flag and stop me there either. Does Easy Anti-Cheat work with any games in Linux now?

@Gronok EAC is supported on Linux / Steam Deck on a per-game basis, Day by Daylight has worked fine for ages

Thanks. I wasn't sure, as I know some games if I try swear they will ban you. So I've not ran with him or tried for awhile.

@gamingonlinux@mastodon. Think Valve needs to hold some of these companies to account over the murky Linux support. They’re selling the games and DLC to Linux people quite happily without a clear message of support or continuity.
