I use Owlfiles on Android. It is possible to connect to network resources, Google Drive and others. I have not met better file managers.

I found CxExplorer for Android to be intuitive around moving/copying files from one location to another, so it's got my star.

I personally use Amaze for my file manager and I'm very happy with it, though I've never tried Fossify's option.

I did switch from Simple Gallery to Fossify Gallery though, which Fossify Gallery is forked from, because Simple Gallery began to show ads after not ever having them previously. Even on F-Droid, it was replaced with Simple Gallery Pro, which would eventually bug you to pay for premium to continue using it. Fossify has most of Simples pro features baked in by default.
