I've never run Arch, btw.

Yeah. I used it and it's not all that amazing to use. All of that "minimalism" is thrown out of the window the moment user's gonna install DE or some other program. The same goes for majority of Arch-based distros. I have seriously no idea why people seem obsessed with it

*shrug* I've been waffling back and forth between Ubuntu and Debian for 20 years... I get the sense that Arch /exists/... but I don't really care. I get the sense that Arch is basically Gentoo for the arrogant cowards, and I just don't have the patience for all the posturing and eeking out every last flop from my gcc options so I can burn it on WM frivolity.
