Valve's Steam Deck with SteamOS has been consistently in the top sales charts on Steam since release, but recently it dropped down rather hard following the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement.

Was this actually the Switch 2 announcement or the other Steam OS devices (and new processors) that were announced at CES? It's easier to imagine one of those having an effect on Steam Deck sales than the Switch, which to all intents and purposes seems like it's targeting a completely different audience. Regardless, it's a curious effect.

Far more likely the Deck 2 announcement.

I was in the cellular industry for nearly two decades; it's the same phenomenon that occurs each year when the new year's iPhone or Samsung is announced.
