can I ask - why newspapers try to sound clever and pose question when answer is known and confirmed many times?
You have to call it what it is.

We've overloaded too many systems that move heat energy around the planet in a predictable way, and now the weather is becoming unpredictable. It will only get worse.

Insofar as it being the "new normal", please keep in mind that growing food is completely dependent on being able to predict the weather.

Calling what we are entering into, "the new normal" completely minimizes it in a very irresponsible manner.

I prefer the term "climate catastrophe" because it's closer to our reality 🙁
I learned a while ago that - at least in German - this expression used to be very common until lobbyism managed to change it to the much softer and more natural sounding "climate change". I wonder if it's like that in all languages.
