My sweet pup's having surgery right now.

I wish we could have more time with our #dogs. We really don't deserve them.

Too true. Hope the surgery goes well and your dog enjoys a speedy recovery.

Hope it goes well. Sending you both lots of love from across the pond.

Hope everything goes well.

Your pup reminds me of my own old companion, Jordi, who I miss terribly.

It's so worrying. Hope it goes well. My dog has had two cruciat ligament ops in the last two years which has been very stressful so know what you are going through. We've got a referral next week for whether anything can be done about the arthritis which has set in in her front legs now. She only 10. Seems like only yesterday she was a puppy 😥

I hope your pup does well and bounces right back! Ours just had knee surgery two weeks ago and got the stitches out yesterday.

May the op go really well! God bless you and your pup. 😊🙏❤️

Since a few kind folks here have asked, Happy came home from the hospital today ❤️

She no longer has a gall bladder or spleen but hopefully she’ll be feeling a lot better soon. /2

And with that, a PSA: If you are able to, get pet insurance 🐾

in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

Is pet insurance worth it where you are from? In Canada it is so expensive that you are better off putting that amount of money for insurance into a rainy day fund and using that in emergencies.
in reply to shrmanator

@shrmanator I get Nationwide pet insurance as an add on benefit through my employer, Michigan State University. So a small amount comes out of my paycheck monthly & it has definitely been worth it for us. Happy is 13.5 & has a lot going on, so I feel fortunate to be able to get her the care she needs.

Oh how good, wonderful news. The pain of gallstones is excruciating. Will she have medication to help her immune system?
in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

Great news. Happy for you and Happy 😃

BTW please try to spend time with your pets and look after their emotional needs as much as possible to avoid the feelings of guilt and regret when something unfortunate happen to them in future.

I think it would be a lot more ethical if we eliminated domesticated species. No more starving strays, or or pets being beaten or food animals in the factory farming industry living miserable lives to be ground up into pet food. stop the whole enterprise.
