The article on the AYANEO NEXT LITE handheld with SteamOS Linux was updated, as AYANEO supplied a statement. They're using HoloISO - so this is not official with Valve https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2024/01/ayaneo-next-lite-handheld-announced-with-steamos-linux/

#SteamOS #SteamDeck #HoloISO #AYANEO

This still seems like a good thing. Perhaps if it sells well, valve might be more likely to offer #SteamOS to third party hardware vendors. Unless Iโ€™m being overly optimistic!

This was unexpected. Also I foresee problems seeing that valve said with their own steam os that you had to get a license before you could distribute steam OS on your hardware (due to the steam software on it)

Calling it "SteamOS" likely infringes Valve's trademarks.

Also, no-one really trusts Aya to not screw up modifying HoloISO or to build their own AyaNeoOS they were previously working on.
Plus they're fast at dropping device support.
