The Dutch government is allowed to reduce the number of flights at Schiphol airport, the Amsterdam Court of Appeal ruled on Friday.

in reply to Peter du Toit • • •There is absolutely no way to โnegotiateโ with the physics of our dumping 39 Gt CO2 into the atmosphere per year.
This behaviour results in accelerating climate change as can be witnessed by the rise in the global average temperature to +1.27ยฐC above pre industrial averages.
If we continue to treat earths atmosphere as a CO2 sewer we will all but ensure catastrophic climate change within the next 70 years.

in reply to Peter du Toit • • •We understand the physics. As a result we also understand what we need to do to avert catastrophe.
Here it is: We need to go from emitting 39 Gt CO2 per year to 19 Gt CO2 by 2030.
This means we need to look at EVERY emission source and avoid it or shift to non carbon emitting energy sources.
