I think this chick is Double, and egg from the farmers market that hosted a Silky Rooster to keep four JiDokKo hens company. The Silky rooster was from her.. I'm pretty sure it was an egg from the farmers market that the Silky hen hatched.. There were too many hens in there so the other, more golden chick died, probably stomped to death but maybe it had other issues.. With 4 or 5 hens in there, a hard-to-see and -reach-into spot it seemed to risky to transport the chicks and one or two hens into another box.. What if I got the wrong hens, ones that are not in a good period for maternal instincts? I was still cold so if they abandoned the chicks when I didn't notice... I'll have to place little boxes or shelves in the corners for the chicks to hide and escabe adult hen feet: set it up so the eggs can roll under there and die from the distance from the warmth and humidity of hen bellies...
