So true. Yet it doesn't have to be like that. In my adopted country that's not a thing. Subscriptions are rare. Pay for what you need and it gets delivered for the duration purchased. Goods like water, electricity are billed every month based on actual consumption instead of some guesstimate based on size, etc. Unlimited 4G internet can be had for a single day at rough 20ct. I wish this model of pay as you go would be more common everywhere.
