The White House has called for an inventory of our eldest forests. A space instrument is helping scientists chronicle these trees as a changing climate threatens their future.

Would have been nice if you had smoothed the data before adding the 3d effect. Makes it look like vegetation in the US is bisected by diagonal stripes.
