What I remember the most is the difference in the reactions; after Challenger, everyone was still in shock for days, even if you weren't "one of them weird space freaks."

Columbia? It was pushed aside by all the news channels in an hour or so, and when I went out later that same day, there was literally no one else talking about it, or even seemed to be aware of it having happened. It didn't even make front-page news where I was, I don't think.

That was when I knew something had fundamentally changed in society, for the worse. Much worse.
