Where will you be during the eclipses in 2023 and 2024?

This map shows the path of the Moon’s shadow as it crosses the contiguous U.S. during the eclipse on Oct. 14, 2023 and total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. Will you get a chance to see them? go.nasa.gov/40pj5hL

already made my room reservation for a hotel in the path of totality 2024. luckily, don't live too far away.

Totality for the one in 2024 is passing right over me. I can't wait!

fascinating. If the earths axis of rotation was not so tilted we should expect to see the path much more latitudinaly aligned. Less north-south and more east-west. But because our planet likely collided with something billions of years ago, probably forming the moon, the rotational axis was tilted 23.4°. The plane of the moons rotation is also inclined 5.145° relative to the earths orbit of the sun. So we end up with these diagonal looking transects/paths.

I live in Buffalo, NY - right in the center line of totality. I told my employer I needed the day off during my initial interview - three and a half years ago.

Of course, spring in Buffalo? Who knows what the cloud cover will be like...

I live in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland, so I my backyard!

On both dates, I will be watching from my backyard with my telescope, equipped with an aperture mask and proper solar filter, weather permitting, of course.
