Study on behaviour of yeast in 0 G in order to mass produce doughnuts in space and combine baking and delivery by throwing them out of space station to bake during re-entry and land exactly on the porch of person who ordered the doughnuts !!!!

In the context of 1960s, I would assume this had more to do with floatation device for a capsule after landing at sea.
