putting the COVID pandemic in the past tense is buying into the same ludicrous narrative the business guy character is spinning. You did not need to do that. Shame on you.
We need to talk about #Covid & #LongCovid . As this comic points out, many people got the wrong message from the pandemic & this wasn't an accident. There was an organized effort to spread disinformation. It was profitable for individuals & social media companies. Health #disinformation on #socialmedia needs to be fixed, because it's killing people.
million dead Americans. A million likely to die from Israel’s starvation of Gaza. It’s like the normalization of millions dying is on purpose or something.
Some "both-sides" troll has been trying to convince me this afternoon that "#Biden has been as bad as T**** re: Covid" b/c "they both gave up fighting it too soon" (as if T**** ever fought it at all.)
When I asked him how Biden was supposed to convince people to protect themselves from NON-lethal Covid when they wouldn't even protect themselves from LETHAL Covid, he had no answer except to lob juvenile attacks on my character. 🤦♂️
These people are soooo annoying! I have a colleague who is in his 20s, who says that all time, that 2020 was the worst that happened to him. He sits there, coughing, without mask, working most of his time from home. Millions more did not survive Covid. Millions are now disabled. It makes me soooo furious. « Oh how bad the time was… » People have become sooo stressful!
There's an old saying, think it's from Philosopher George Santayana, about how those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it ...
Thing is, there's always been 'two schools of thought' ... once upon a time people with contagious diseases like TB were isolated until cured ... and dumb people thought it was ok to expose their children to measles, mumps etc ... then along came vaccines and everybody relaxed ...
But ... the US held Event 201 just before Covid hit ... and seems none of the reps learned anything from history or even from the 'pandemic exercise' they participated in ... so I doubt they've learned anything since simply because "The Economy" matters most.
The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY.
Most office work can be done from home. It's better done from home - less vehicles on the roads. The infrastructure is already here for it to work.
The shocking takeaway for me from Covid was how many really stupid people existed. The science was there but people did not protect themselves and those around them against the new disease. The 5 million US dead are largely not "accidental" but more manslaughter due to unmasked idiots pretending Covid didn't exist.
for me I did the vaccinations I did the social distancing because I watched three of my good friends, die of Covid in the beginning of the pandemic, when there were no vaccinations and no way to know how to treat them, and it just upsets me that people are still to this day, saying it didn’t exist or it was a fake will tell it to those three peoples families who lost loved ones because of Covid.
@tylerstone Trump’s strategies for reclaiming the Oval Office: Encourage Americans to deny, ignore, or forget just how dangerous and dysfunctional life was here four years ago, and to repress our memories of his government’s chaotic, and policy response to that year’s crises. https://time.com/6959714/covid-19-pandemic-2020-election/

"Do you mean pain from Long Covid symptoms? Or painful grief from losing family and friends to Covid?"
"No, I mean attacks from folks who say I'm contributing to disability and death by doing nothing to stop the spread of Covid!"
