Assuming DetCo ended at a reasonable length (like ~300-400 eps ago imo) I think it would have been sweet having a childhood friend princess and the frog thing go on, and its the fact that its stretched to so long and every other relationship in this show is a childhood friend thing that it just kinda ruins ShinRan.

It's kinda a meme in the DCMK fandom that shipping shinichi with anyone else in the show would be better
