This little guy hit a window while I was outside gardening. They were stunned for quite a while - I sat quietly nearby - but eventually flew off to join the rest of the family. As they recovered they perched on a fallen twig.

Short of plastering stickers and sun catchers over every square inch of the windows I don’t know how to stop birds flying into them.

even stickers sometimes don't work. You can put washing up liquid on, and it makes the glass visible, but it washes off in rain so you have to keep doing it. I haven't found anything yet that works 100% of the time but am now following this thread, just in case someone else has.

@ephemeral something that washes off in rain won’t really be very effective in Wales. There are two windows in particular that get most bird strikes so I’ve focused on decorating them but it isn’t working well. The young birds are still learning I guess.

yes nor in Ireland. I lived in a cottage when I tried it but it was too much to keep reapplying most days (plus rinsing the toxicity of the soap into the land doesn't seem a good idea).
