This is Percy, my "foster fail". I had the mom and her five kittens for a couple of months. Their eyes weren't even open when they arrived. This guy is something else. Still only five months old, whip smart, comes when I call him. Buddies with one of our two rough collies.

Holiday kitty tip:
Collect a small bouquet of pretty seasonal leaves. If you really want to go all out, wax a few of the prettiest for the Thanksgiving table decor and stash until then.
The rest of the leaves are fantastic kitty enrichments to "hide" around a before you are going to vacuum or sweep anyways. Especially when they're rustly when moved, dry and crunchy. Something new to sniff out and play with. The family cats have been adoring this game for weeks, really getting into sniffing all the leaves from different places excites them every time.
Young kitten tip: Know the kind of leaves offered are safe and observe them so they don't eat the whole thing.
Both of mine, Wilbur and Nita, began stealing my office chair after I adopted them , but Nita was by far the bigger offender. I decided to give her the old chair and upgrade mine. Now, she steals the new one when I walk away from it. I'm sure that if I bought a third chair, she would switch to stealing that one.
While I do love Nora Jones' version of Roxy Music's More Than This, I've rediscovered the ethereal beauty of the original.
