Great rules for doing science too:
1) Don't be too busy - it kills creativity
2) change field of work occasionally
3) surround yourself with critics
4) Don't listen to advice (ie trust authority too much)
5) do curiosity-driven work

@jhavok it is all relative. For those who are workaholics, it important to stop and take a breath, take in the broader picture, etc

Yeah, they were all fun people...also marine biologists, so they got out in the field quite a bit.
