no specific preference. Learned to work with respective package managers that come along with the distro by default.

My favorite combination is dpkg/apt, simply because I have been using Debian and its derivatives for almost 20 years and have therefore gotten to know the tools relatively well. I can't remember any serious problems that I didn't cause myself.

Now, I've been using Manjaro, i.e. pamac/pacman, for some time and I've got on well with it too.

As long as it works, it's not really a relevant decision to me🤷

I just work with what ever comes in the distro. However, on my debian based machines, I use nala as a nicer tui for installing.

I like what yum and dnf gives. And yay is nice to for aur. But I miss the interactivity that apt gives when there is configuration to do.

pacman with Arch on the desktop and apt with Debian on the Server.

I guess it would be not useful to discard the original pkg mgr from a distribution just following own favourites. Therefor this survey equals to a distro survey . Tell me your pkg mgr and I guess your distro 🫢

linux-wise, I favor dnf, but overall, my wife is the package manager I prefer.

There are only 2 correct answers, Pacman and Portage. They are superior to all others :sickmeme:

No preference. Mostly I use flatpak, but I also use AM app image manager and PARU.

though I use Pacman, I'm increasingly using Rockers
github.com/stratos-linux/rockers
It's my project that just happens to come in handy for Yay and Flatpak 😉
