Kate -> for quick script editing
Kdevelop -> for python and php
Geany -> for lightness and C++
Netbeans -> for java

Whatever available on my system. Currently I'm using Plasma (btw), so it's Kwrite.

Trying to ditch Electron based editors, I recently switched to Helix.

micro for quick edits on config files and stuff
geany for more sophisticated projects

no one use eMacs ?? Then I close the gap
( I use different others, but yes, I can eMacs from the beginning 90ies with Unix! )

SciTE
It's small, fast, extensible with scripts and it's got a nice pane for script output.

the keyboard has always made more of a difference for me. Being impacted by which IDE I use feels like only being able to drive certain makes/models of cars.
