"[#Ken] learns...value isn’t defined by...status or...purchasing power, but by who he is at his core, as a person...the film is...empathetic to men...rather than a criticism of men...most men want attachment to other humans—love, connection, security, recognition—just like women do...the movie shows...how these human needs get miscommunicated by men...because men haven’t been socialized to identify their...needs, or communicate them honestly with women" #Barbie #IAmKenough

we went to see it last week. What we want to know is why we were nearly the only people laughing at the funny bits? There seemed to be two others in the theater who were getting the jokes. The opening Kubrick pastiche was great and everyone sat through it like it was nothing.

Interesting! Now I'm actually more interested in seeing the movie, after reading that article

I'm a 58 year old straight white male living in the Southern US, and I thought the Barbie movie was one of the funniest things I have watched in a long ass time. And beautiful as well. I can't imagine being so broken as to not laugh at yourself as a man watching this movie.
