I heard of someone who befrended a bunch of corvids and they became kind of a menace to the elderly residents living around them. Eventually they managed to get the corvids to befriend the old folks as well.
Some time later one of the old folks fell returning to their home but the corvids noticed and swarmed in. Their panic alerted neighbors that saved the old guy.
Dunno if that story is true but it seems possible.
